I wanted a decorative paperweight with a nice scent to aroma my home. I began crochet around a bathbomb. Then I crochet arms and finger. The arms is basically one long tube that I attached to the back of the bath bomb. I wrapped a ribbon around the arms for decorative purposes. I crochet around a lid to be the cup of this paperweight doll. I added eyes, mouth, and nose to create her face. I glued on eyelashes for dramatic effect.

Crochet Hat.

This lady needs a hat. I decorated with some leftover arts and craft bric and brac I had laying around. I stitched the hat to the paperweight bath bomb doll.

This flower uses Irish Crochet pattern, but instead of lacy yarn, I used chunky yarn. You can get this flower crochet pattern here.

The Aquarium Fish that will not die

This fish will decorate your shelves like an aquiarium, except, it will never die on you. Get this free pattern here.

Decide the length of the hair and begin rolling up the hair in the desired length. You will also need glue, a sewing machine, and two types of ribbon: wide width and narrow width (see pic above). In this tutorial, I had to glue the wider ribbon to the doll head.

This was to give it a surface that is easier to glue the hair onto. You might not need to do this. You will need the narrow width ribbon to stitch the hair onto. This is to create the hairpieces that you will glue to the doll hair in a circular fashion.

Lay the ribbon across the middle of the yarn as pic above shows. Stitch with long stitches across the ribbon on the sewing machine. Lay all the hair across to face one side. Stitch across the ribbon with cross stitches on the sewing machine. The result will look like the picture below.

Glue the hair in a circular motion around the head (see pics below).

Once all the hair is glued on, you can give her a haircut. The haircut part is the best part. Now you can be creative and pretend you are Frédéric Fekkai. :)

Doll Upcycle begins with Great Hair

Doll upcyle is one of my favourite hobbies. The doll hair is my favourite part.

I then made a 2nd motif exactly the same way.

The spine is made by crochet a row of 2 bullion block stitches until the height of the book is reached. Stitch the 2 book cover pieces to the spine. I used double yarn when I crochet the ridge. I used the same double yarned and stitched around the book cover using a sewing needle to frame it in.

Crochet the height of the book about halfway of the book cover. This will be part of the inside of the book. Attach to the front cover. Crochet lengthwise the remaining length that is not covered by the folding piece. Make 2 each side and attach to the top and bottom inside the book cover. This will keep your book inside the book cover.

Block bullion stitches are crochet like this: 1 dc, yo and insert hook around dc, pull through yarn so you have 3 loops on hook, repeat 3 more times, yo and pull through all loops on hook, sl st in same st as ch 3. 

Decoration: To decorate the book cover, I used pink and brown felt. I stitched the pink felt to create a door. I used chunky green yarn and crochet the arch using simple single crochet stitches.

The arch is decorated with roses. Some of the roses are crochet by hdc over the cordn and then rolled into a rose. The blue flowers on the tree are made the same way. To make the tree trunk and brances, I used brown felt and stitch it in place using a sewing needle and brown yarn. This book cover became a christmas gift this year. I was so happy with the outcome. :)

Yarn: ArdillaSobra (63 % cotton 37 % rayon) in Green and Pink

Row 1. With green: Chain 40, turn, 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 hdc in every ch to end. Turn.

Row 2-3. Ch 2, 1 hdc in each hdc to end, change color to pink. Turn.

Row 4. With pink: Ch 2, 1 hdc in each hdc to end, change color to green. Turn.

Tip. When you begin crochet the cable pattern, follow the cable diagram. You can also follow the written pattern, however, it is easier to follow a grid.

How to crochet the letter A step by step

Start crocheting Chainless Single Crochet stitches where it says Start. Crochet chainless sc to 1. Turn and sl st back 2 stitches. Begin crochet down and up where it says 3, 4, and 5. This is crocheted in 1 long ‘arm’ that you will fold as picture above shows. Continue crochet where it says 6 and attach to 1 with a sl st.

Slip stitch down 7 to make the 2nd ‘arm’. Crochet chainless single crochet where 6 ends to complete 7.

Continue crochet around the whole work with slip stitch to give the A more support. When you reach where 5 crosses 3, attach with slip stitch to secure the fold.

I finally crochet my first Zig Zag Cable pattern. It is easier to follow a diagram than a written description.

The pink hooks are Front Post Trebles (FPdtr) that go behind the FPdtr when you make the waving cable pattern. The blue books are Front Post Trebles (FPdtr) that go in front of the FPdtr to make the waving cable patterns. The green hooks are FPtr.

FPdtr is marked in 2 colours because the pink coloured hooks go behind the blue cloured hooks when you make the cables. This makes the Zig Zag pattern where it looks like the cables are woven in and out of each other. This is because the cables are crochet 2 rows below the row you are on.

When you make the FPtr and FPDtr crochet around the stitches 2 rows below as the diagram above shows.

Hairpin crochet slippers materials

Heirloom

Chunky yarn. I used Vel-Luxe Polyester Yarn and crochet hook size 4.0 mm.

Sewing needle (for weaving in the ends).

Scissors.

Hairpin slippers instructions.

On the hairloom on the 2nd biggest setting.

Step 1. Crochet 35 loops each loop connected with a single crochet stitch.

Off the loom, fold piece in half and weave the inner loops together. Leave the outer loops unworked.

Step 2. Crochet 45 loops on the loom on the same settings and each loop connected with a single crochet stitch.

Step 3. Weave loops on one side into each other. On the other side, weave loops with unworked loops on 35 loops piece. 10 loops will be unworked since the 2nd piece has 10 more loops. This will be the heel. Weave the remaining loops into each other and stitch to the other side of the slipper to form the heel.

Step 4. Attach yarn with a slip stitch in the side of slippers. Ch 2, *yo, attach st in next st, yo, pull through stitch, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook, yo, attach st in next st, yo, pull through stitch, yo , pull through 2 loops on hook, yo, pull through all loops on hook. *, repeat between ** all around.

Hairpin crochet slippers pattern on the internet

I looked around the internet, but could not find Hairpin crochet slippers anywhere. Hairpin crochet technique is famous for shawls, tops, capes, and scarves. You can also make beautiful lace jewelry. I even made a Hairpin camel as you can see in the image above. Hairpin lace-making is very popular and fine yarn is often used. I like to change up the rules a little bit and sometimes use chunky yarn.

Weaving the Hairpin loops together.

When you weave the loops together, you can make any intricate shape you need for your creations. Hairpin crochet technique is also used in my Crochet Hairpin Viking ship (see image above the Hairpin Camel). You might also notice the Tree of Life Hairpin necklace where I used chunky yellow yarn.

Pinwheel Crochet Pattern Free Tutorial.

This Pinwheel crochet pattern uses US stitch abbreviation.

Row 1. Ch 8, sl st in ch 1 to form a ring, *ch 5, 1 sc in ring*, repeat between ** 3 more times, ch 2, 1 dc in sl st.

Row 2. Ch 1, 3 sc in some loop, *ch 6, 3 sc in loop*, repeat between ** 3 more times.

Row 3. *Ch 6, sk 1 sc in each of the last 2 sc, 3 sc in loop*, repeat between ** 4 times.

Row 4. *Ch 6, sk 1 sc, 1 sc in each of next 4 sc, 3 sc in loop*, repeat between ** 4 times.

Next 7 rounds. Continue crochet 6 ch loops, sk 1 sc at beg of each sc group and work 3 sc in each loop after sc group until you have 21 sc in each sc group.

Pinwheel Crochet Pattern Doily

The Crochet Pinwheel Doily has been published in Afghans and Doilies. The pattern in this book is a bit difficult to understand from row 13 onwards, so I have simplified it in the pattern above. Each row you increase each time you have to ch 6 and sc in loop as there is an increase in 6-ch loops each row. This way, the chain loops cover more and more of the outer edges until they cover all around the doily.

Crochet Doilies to decorate your home

Doilies are fantastic to decorate your home. I am amazed at the beauty of Doilies. Some even make Mandalas in a beautiful range of colours. Doilies can be framed and used as art on the wall, or they can be used to decorate tables and even used as bedspreads. You can connect many doilies together and create big pieces of art.

This is a beautiful Swan made up of Bullion stitches. If you make 2, you can wear them as earrings.

In this pattern, the Bullion stitches are made this way: Wrap yarn 8 times around the hook, insert hook in stitch, yarn over, pull yarn through stitch, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook, ch 1.

In this pattern I use US stitch abbreviations.

I used hook size 2.5 mm for this project and 4 ply yarn.

Crochet Swan Pattern

Step 1. Chain 3, turn, 10 bullion stitches in 3rd ch from hook, sl st in 1st bullion stitch to create a circle.

Step 2. Chain 10, turn, 1 dc in 3rd chain from hook, in same ch as last st crochet: 1 tr + 1 dtr + 1 ttr, turn. Crochet back to tip of turning chain using slip stitches.

Step 3. Make beak: chain 3 picot. Slip stitch back the neck of swan, end with 1 sl st in bullion st. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Make tail.

Make a slip knot, crochet 1 bullion stitch over the cord. Fasten off and attach to swan. Weave in the ends.

This pattern uses US stitch abbreviation.

Make 2 identical motifs.

Each mortif is one leg of the trousers. Row 12-15 shapes the back and front of the upper part of the trousers.

Row 1. 40 chainless single crochet. Turn.

Row 2-5. 1 sc in each sc. Turn.

Row 6. 1 sc in next 30 sc. Turn.

Row 7 – 9. 1 sc in 30 sc. Turn.

Row 10. 1 sc in 15 sc. Turn.

Row 11. 1 sc in 15 sc. Do not turn.

You will now begin to shape what will be the back of the trousers.

Row 12. 2 hdc in last sc, 1 hdc in each sc up to the top of row 6. Turn.

Row 13. (Skip 1 hdc, 1 hdc in next hdc) x 2, 1 hdc in every hdc to end, do not crochet in the sc. Turn.

Row 14. 1 hdc in hdc. Fasten off.

You will now begin to shape the front of the trousers.

Row 15. Reattach yarn in first sc opposite side (row 1), 1 sc innext 8 sc, turn.

Row 16 – 17. 1 sc in 8 sc. Turn. Fasten off after row 17.

Row 12 to 17 shapes the upper part of the trousers. When you assemble the trousers, stitch row 17 together at the front. Begin stitching row 14 together at the back, but only halfway down the row 14. Tuck the remaining half of row 14 in and stitch to the front trouses.

Wrap the length of trousers around the legs and stitch together. Fold the end of trousers up around the ankles to give the appearence of a heamed seam.

How to crochet barbie outfits

Crocheting Barbie outfits are easy, but you will ahve to use a very small hook and quite fine yarn. I use 100 % cotton and 1.9 mm yarn.

In this post, I gave Elsa a remake. I also made her a wig. In a previous barbie makeover, I stitched yarn directly to the barbie head (see image below), but this time, I made a wig using doll hair.

To make this crochet top, you will need to make 2 identical motifs.

Materials

Use a small crochet hook size 1.9 mm.

Use 100 % cotton yarn.

A sewing needle to weave in the ends and attach the 2 motifs.

How to make Life Size patterns using crochet Doll patterns

If you multiply the stitches with 7 or 8, and use a larger hook such as 5.5 mm, then it is possible to recreate a doll pattern to become a real size pattern. :) You might also ahve to change yarn size to one that fits better around a larger size hook.

Row 2. 1 hdc in every hdc to the 5 dc cluster from previour row, in the next hdc crochet: 1 hdc, 2 hdc, 1 hdc, 2 hdc, 1 hdc, Continue crochet 1 hdc to end. Turn.

Row 3. Crochet 1 hdc in each hdc to the middle 2 hdc (tip of sole), 2 hdc in next 2 hdc, 1 hdc in remaining hdc to end. Turn.

Row 4. Crochet 1 hdc in each hdc to the midle where you crocheted 2 hdc in 2 hdc (all up 4 hdc). In the 4 hdc crochet: 2 hdc in each 4 hdc. Continue crochet 1 hdc to end. Turn.

Row 5. Crochet 1 hdc in each hdc all around. Turn.

Row 6. Slip stitch in the 1st 29 hdc, 2 hdc in the next 12 hdc, sl st in the remaining 29 hdc. Turn.

Row 7. Crochet slip stitch in 29 slip stitch, 1 hdc in 24 hdc, and sl st in remaining 29 slip stitch. Turn.

Row 8. Slip stitch in next 12 sl st, Ch 2, 1 dc in all the stitches until the remaining 11 sl sts, sl st in remaining sl st. Instead of turning, crochet across to other side and begin shaping heel. Crochet 16 sc across. Do not turn. In the next 11 sts crochet 4 sets of Dc-Cross stitches, sl st in ch 2. In the remaining dc we are now crochet waffle stitch. Continue as follows: Ch 2, 1 FPDC in next dc, 1 dc in next dc, *1 FPDC in next 2 dc, 1 dc in next dc*, rep between ** to end, sl st to dc below. Crochet the remaining 11 sl st with a set of 4 Dc-Cross stitches, 1 dc in sc, sc in sc across to other side, end with sl st in ch 2.

Row 9. Ch 2, crochet 4 sets of DC-cross stitches on top of cross stitches previous row, sl st in ch 2, ch 2, 1 dc in next dc, *1 FPDC in next dc, 1 dc in next 2 dc*, rep between ** to end, sl st to dc below, crochet 4 sets of DC-cross stitches on top of DC-cross stitches, 1 dc in sc, 1 sc in every sc across, sl st in ch 2.

Row 10. Ch 2, crochet 4 sets of DC-cross stitches on top of cross stitches previous row, sl st in ch 2, Ch 2, 1 FPDC in next dc, 1 dc in next dc, *1 FPDC in next 2 dc, 1 dc in next dc*, rep between ** to end, sl st to dc below, crochet 4 sets of DC-cross stitches on top of DC-cross stitches.

Row 11. Crochet 4 sets of DC-cross stitches on top of cross stitches previous row, 1 sc in ch , 1sc in every dc to end, crochet 4 sets of DC-cross stitches on top of DC-cross stitches, continue crochet DC-cross stitches across dc to other side.

Row 12. Crochet 4 sets of DC-cross stitches on top of cross stitches previous row, 1 sc in sc, continue crochet across sc with Dc-cross stitches, end with sc in sc, crochet sets of DC-cross stitches on top of DC-cross stitches until you reach the beginning row of other side, 1 sc in 1st dc.

Row 13. 1 sc in each sts all around.

Fasten off and turn work inside out.

PS. On the 2nd slipper, reattach yarn on the opposite side of where you are from Row 13. This way, you will create the pattern folding outwards on the other slipper as well.

Round 14. 1 sc in next 10 sc, 1 hdc in next 6 sc, 1 dc in next 3 sc, 1 tr in next 3 sc, 1 dtr in next 3 scs, sk 3 scs, sl st in next sc, turn, 1 sc in next 15 sts, turn, 1 hdc in next 6 sc, 1 dc in next 3 sc, 1 tr in next 3 sc, 1 dtr in next 3 scs, sk 3 scs, sl st in next sc, turn, 1 sc in 15 sts, sk 2 scs, 1 sc in next sc, no not turn, 1 sc in next sc, *sk 1 sc, 1 sc in next 2 sc*, rep between ** to you reach dtr on the other side. Turn work inside out.

Round 15. *2 FPDC in next 2 sts (in st below sc), 2 BPDC in next 2 sts*, rep between ** 2 times, turn, rep between ** 3 times, turn, rep between ** 3 times, sk 2 sc, sl st in sc, turn, rep between ** 3 times. Fasten off. Fold the flap across and stitch to side of slipper.

Row 15. 1 sc in sc, sl st in ch 3 of 4 ch sp, crochet 5 tr down the 3 ch of the 2-tr group, insert hook from left to right (looking directly at the work), crochet 5 tr up the next tr (you have now crocheted a Shell), *sk next 2-tr-group, crochet shell in next 2-tr group*, continue to end, end with sl st in ch sp of last 2-tr group, 1 sc in sc around. Fasten off.

Row 16. Attach blue colored yarn in middle of shell: *1 bullion block stitch in same st as sl st, sl st in 2 ch sp* continue to end of crocodile stitches, sl st in every sc around, sl st in 1st crocodile stitch.

Use 100 % cotton in white and pink. Use a crochet hook size 4.00 mm. This pattern uses UK stitch abbreviations. Below is a UK to US stitch abbreviation.

Begin crochet the Sole.

Starting at center with White, ch 26.

1st Rnd: 7 dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in each ch across, 8 dc in last ch, working along opposite side of starting chain, dc in each ch across. Join with sl st to top of starting chain.

4th Rnd: Sc in same place as sl st, * 3 sc in next sp, sc in next st. Repeat from * around. Join and break off.

UPPER

Attach White to same place as sl st, ch 41, skip 15 sc, sl st in next sc.

1st Rnd: Sc in next 10 sc, half dc in next sc, dc in next 9 sc, half dc in next sc, sc in next 10 sc, sc in each ch around. Join.

2nd Rnd: Ch 3, dc in next st and in each st around. Join and break off. 3rd Rnd: Attach Pink to same place as sl st, sc in same place, sc in each dc around. Join and break off.

Attach White to same place as sl st. Repeat last 2 rnds 2 more times.
