Crochet snail
Crochet Materials:
Crochet hook size 3.0
Crochet Yarn in acrylic dark blue, light blue, chunky brown, white, black, feather orange
Scissors
Needle
Crochet snail house pattern
This pattern uses US stitch abbreviation.
Make 2 motifs that you will join together.
With dark blue yarn:
Round 1. Ch 2, turn, 9 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in 1st sc.
Round 2. 15 hdc in hole, sl st in 1st hdc.
Round 3. 2 sc in next 6 hdc, turn, (ch 3, sk 1 sc, sl st in next sc) x 6. Fasten off. Slip stitch sides together. Fill in craft filling inside.
Attach fluffy yarn and reattach with sl st in 3-ch sp.
Round 4. (3 sc in 3-ch sp, sl st in next 3-ch sp) x 6. Fasten off. Weave in ends.
Crochet snail body.
Begin with snail tail.
With light blue yarn:
Round 1. Ch 2, turn, 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook.
Round 2 – 3. Sc in sc.
Round 4 – 15. Sc in 3 sc.
Begin crochet snail head.
Round 16- 18. 2 sc in sc to end.
Round 19 – 21. Sc in sc.
Round 22. (2 sc tog) x 3, 2 sc in next sc until last 6 sc, (2 sc tog) x 3.
Round 23. Sc in sc.
Round 24. Rep round 22.
Round 25. Sc in sc.
Round 26. 2 sc tog.
Fill craft filling in snail tail and sl st hole together. Stitch sides of head together and fill in with craft filling as you go. Sl st body to snail house.
Crochet eyes.
White white. Ch 2, turn, 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Fasten off. Sl st to side of head.
With black stitch pupil inside eye and stitch with black around eye.
Crochet nose.
Ch 2, turn, 7 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Fasten off. Fold over and sl st edges together. Sl st nose to snail head.
Hair.
With orange feather yarn, sl st Mohawk on top of snail head.
Mouth.
With red yarn stitch the mouth.
Crochet Snail Amigurumi
This cute snail is so tiny and easy to make. It will be part of a cup cosy decorated with crochet mushrooms, snails, and hedgehogs. :) This crochet snail only took me a couple of hours to make.
