How to Crochet Heart Earrings ~ Free Crochet Tutorial.
This pattern creates a heart shaped crochet basket. I had 2 heart shaped motifs that came off my beach slippers and decided to use them in my next crochet project in the new ‘from trash to treasure’ series.
Treble is a taller crochet stitch sometimes used to work up piece quickly. In crochet patterns a Treble is abbreviated tr. Note that if you are using UK or Australian crochet patterns a Treble is called a Double Treble (dtr).
In this example we are making a foundation chain of 19 chs. Turn. Do not remove hook. Yarn over twice. Skip the first 4 chs and insert hook into 5th chain from hook. Yarn over, pull through yarn. You now have 4 loops on hook. (yarn over and pull yarn through next 2 loops on hook) x 2, yarn over and pull through final 2 loops on hook to complete the stitch. Continue like this in every chain to end: Yarn over twice, insert hook in chain, yarn over, pull yarn through loop, yarn over, (pull yarn through next 2 loops on hook) x 3. You will now have 16 sts. Turn.
How to crochet Treble in working row 2.
To gain the right height we start off with ch 4. This is called the turning chain.
Continue as follows: *Yarn over twice, insert hook into next tr, yarn over and pull yarn through st, (yarn over and pull through next 2 loops) x 3*, continue between ** to end. Final tr in ch 4. Turn.
Complete the working row. All up 16 trebles.
Fasten off and Weave in ends.
Cut off yarn and pull it through loop on hook. Remove hook and tighten the yarn to fasten off. You can weave in the remaining yarn using either a needle. Insert needle with yarn back into work.
