Treble is a taller crochet stitch sometimes used to work up piece quickly. In crochet patterns a Treble is abbreviated tr. Note that if you are using UK or Australian crochet patterns a Treble is called a Double Treble (dtr).

Step 1.

In this example we are making a foundation chain of 19 chs. Turn. Do not remove hook. Yarn over twice. Skip the first 4 chs and insert hook into 5th chain from hook. Yarn over, pull through yarn. You now have 4 loops on hook. (yarn over and pull yarn through next 2 loops on hook) x 2, yarn over and pull through final 2 loops on hook to complete the stitch. Continue like this in every chain to end: Yarn over twice, insert hook in chain, yarn over, pull yarn through loop, yarn over, (pull yarn through next 2 loops on hook) x 3. You will now have 16 sts. Turn.
