Crochet Polar Bear Instruction

This crochet pattern uses US stitch abbreviation.

Polar Bear head

Round 1. Ch 3, 11 dc in 3rd ch from hook, sl st in ch 3.

Round 2 – 4. Ch3, *2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc*, continue between ** to end, sl st in ch 3.

Round 5. Ch 3, dc in dc to end, sl st in ch 3.

Round 6 – 10. Ch 3, *dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc tog*, rep between ** to end, sl st in ch 3.

Fill in stuffing.

Polar bear snout

Round 11. Ch 3, dc in every dc to end, sl st in ch 3.

Fill in stuffing.

Round 12. 2 dc tog to end, sl st in ch 3.

Round 13. 2 sc tog until hole is closed. Fasten off. Weave in end.

Polar bear body

Round 1. Ch 3, 11 dc in 3rd ch from hook, sl st in ch 3.

Round 2 – 4. Ch3, *2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc*, continue between ** to end, sl st in ch 3.

Round 5. Ch 3, dc in dc to end, sl st in ch 3.

Round 6 – 8. Ch 3, *dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc tog*, rep between ** to end, sl st in ch 3.

Fill in stuffing.

Round 9. Rep round 6.

Round 1o. 2 sts tog until hole is closed.

Polar bear Legs (make 2).

Round 1. Ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in every ch to last ch, 6 sc in last ch, continue crochet underneath of sts just made, sc in each sc, sl st in turning ch.

Round 2 – 5. Ch 1, sk next sc, sc in every sc to the 2 sc on the tip, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in remaining sc to end, sl st in ch 1.

Round 6. Ch 1, sk next sc, sc in each sc to end, sl st in ch 1.

Round 7-8. Ch 1, sk next sc, sc in every sc to the 4 sc creating the tip, (2 sc tog) x 2, sc in sc to end, sl st in ch 1.

Round 9 – 10. Rep round 6.

Round 2 – 3. Ch 1, sk next sc, sc in every sc to the 2 sc on the tip, 2 sc in next 2 sc, sc in remaining sc to end, sl st in ch 1.
