This pattern uses US stitch abbreviation. 

Ladder Stitch needs a multiple of 6 sts + 1, add 6 ch for the foundation chain, in this example chain 25.

FR. Ch 25, in 13th ch from hook, *ch 5, sk 5 ch, in next ch*, repeat between ** to end, ending ch 5, sk 5 ch, 1 EXSC in last ch. Turn.

Row 1. Ch 7, *sk ch 5,   in next 3-ch sp, ch 5*, repeat between ** to end, ending with ch 5, sk 5 chs, 1 EXSC in next ch. Turn.
