Crochet Flower Pattern ~ Step by Step free pattern

This is an Irish Crochet Wheel with a Modern Twist. This is the pattern of the traditional Fifth Wheel Irish Crochet.

This pattern uses US stitch abbreviation.

Use 100 % Acrylic yarn and Moda Vera Fayette Yarn multicolor. Use crochet hook size 5.0 mm

Begin by using Yellow yarn.

Round 1. Over a single cord foundation crochet: 1 sc + 1 hdc + 3 dc + 1 hdc + 1 sc, (1 sc over the cord foundation on the 4^th sc of the ring) x 5.

Round 2. *Over a single cord foundation crochet 1 sc on the 2^nd of the 3 empty sc stitches of the ring and behind the little leaves of the 1^st row, 17 sc over a single cord*, repeat between ** 5 times, end with 1 sl st in the 1^st sc on the ring, 4 sl st on the first 4 sc of the first 17 chain scallop.

Round 3. *Ch 4 (at the repeats make 1 dc instead of ch 3), (1 dc + 1 ch)x 9, sk 7 sc*, repeat between ** 5 times, 1 sl st in 3^rd ch, ch 1.

Change yarn to Moda Vera Fayette Yarn multicolor.

Round 4. *In each dc and ch sp crochet: 4 sc + 1 picot + 4 sc + 1 picot + 4 sc + 1 picot + 4 sc + 1 picot  *, repeat between ** all around, finish with a sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

Crochet flower face

Use light pink yarn.

Ch 2, turn, 12 sc in 3rd ch from hook, sl st in ch 2.

Round 2. 17 hdc over 12 sc, sl st in 1st hdc.

Round 3. 21 dc over the 17 hdc.

Crochet nose

Use dark pink yarn.

Crochet over a single cord: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc. Fasten off. Use a sewing needle and stitch into a ball. Attach to middle of face.

Attach the face of the flower in the middle of the Irish flower.

Attach doll eyes.

Crochet eyelids

Use light blue yarn.

Row 1. 5 sc over a cord, turn.

Row 2. 1 sc in each sc to end. turn.

Row 3. 1 sl st in each sc to end. Turn.

Stitch over the doll eyes.

Stalk

Use a stick.

Use pink yarn and 4.00 mm hook.

Crochet a chain of single crochet the length of the stick until you it can wrap around a stick. Use a sewing needle and stitch together.

Crochet Leaves

Make 3.

Use Moday Vera Flurry Yarn. Use crochet hook 4.00 mm.

Crochet 3 x hdc over the cord.

Attach to stalk.

Row 1. With Green yarn, ch 3, turn, 12 dc in 3rd ch from hook. Turn. (13)

Row 2. 2 hdc in dc, hdc in every dc until last dc, 2 hdc in last st. Turn. (15).

This pattern uses US stitch abbreviation.

This pattern uses an Heirloom at widest with. Crochet sc per loop. When two loops each side, join fist with sc as normal, then join two loops together with 7-sc cluster stitch, ch 5, sc in middle of 7-sc cluster stitch. Repeat until you have 18 x 2 loops together, end with ch 5, sc in middle of 7-sc cluster stitch. Pull work off the loom. Attach 9 x 2-loops together with a sl st, ch 10, attach remaining 9 x 2-loops together with sl st. Turn. Sl st in 10 ch sp. Step 1. Create 32 loops each side with sc.

Step 2. Take the loops off the loom. On 1st side reattach yarn in *7 loops together with sc,  ch 2, sc in next loop, ch 2*, repeat between ** to end, end with sl st in 1st sc. Fasten off.

Step 3. On 2nd side reattach yarn *2 loops together with sl st, ch 3 picot, sl st in 2 loops, ch 5*, repeat to end.

Step 4. Reattach yarn in ch 2 sp (from step 2), *ch 3, sl st in next 2 ch sp*, continue all around to end.

Begin crochet neck of the Phoenix. 

Step 5. 14 sc up 2 loops tog, ch 10, turn, 17 sc around 10 sc, sl st in 1st sc, sl st in 14th sc. This pattern uses the sacred number 6 to create the sacred number 108. Basically, you will repeat the number 6 x 18 to create the holy number 108.

Crochet Material:

Crochet Instructions

This Crochet Pattern uses US crochet stitches. 

In this pattern you will use single crochet stitches, slip stitches, chains, and picot stitches.

Begin by crochet 6 sc over the cord, sl st in 1st sc to form a ring.

Round 1. (Ch 6, sl st in sc) x 6.

Round 2. In each 6-ch sp crochet: 3 sc + 6 ch picot st+ 3 sc.  (All up you have now crochet 108 sts). Fasten off. Weave in ends with a sewing needle.

Attach this motif to your 3rd eye while meditating. You can use vaseline to temporary stick this motif to your 3rd eye.

This Crochet Pattern is for dolls. Instead of stitching eyes on the crochet doll you can use this pattern and attach eyes you have crochet. Depending on the size of your doll you can either use the number of sc used in this pattern or you can half it for smaller size. You can also create smaller doll eyes by using smaller crochet hook.

Crochet yarn color black, light blue, white and same color as your doll.

Crochet Eyelashes:

You can use a sewing needle and stitch some eyelashes OR alternatively you can crochet eyelashes using picot stitches as picture below shows. I turned the eyes around and am using the 10 sc between hdc as upper eye lid.

Crochet instruction for Eyelashes:

Crochet in back loops only: *1 picot in sc after hdc, 1 sl st in next sc*, repeat between ** to hdc, sl st in hdc, sl st in next sc, *1 hdc in next sc, sl st in next 2 sc*, repeat between ** to end. End with sl st in 1st picot.

Crochet Doll Eyes

This pattern creates a heart shaped crochet basket. I had 2 heart shaped motifs that came off my beach slippers and decided to use them in my next crochet project in the new ‘from trash to treasure’ series.

Make 2 identical.

Ch 4,

Row 1. 10 tr in 4th ch from hook. Turn.

Row 2. Ch 3, 1 tr in next 4 tr, 2 tr in next tr, 1 tr in next 5 tr. Turn.

Row 3. Ch 3, 2 tr in same st as ch 3, 3 tr in next st, *(3 tr in next tr)x 2, ch 3, sk 1 tr*, repeat between ** 3 times, turn.

Row 4. 1 dc in every sts across, 1 picot in 2nd ch of the 3rd 3-ch sp, turn.

Row 2. Continue crochet dc in sc previous row and sc in dc previous row to end.

Repeat row 2 until you have desired length.

Free Crochet Pattern using the Seed Crochet Stitch

Crochet Materials

Yarn in colors Red and Black.

Crochet hook size 4.0

Special Crochet stitches:

Picot stitch.

Seed crochet stitch: See instructions above.

Decrease crochet stitch: Insert hook in next st, yarn over, pull yarn through st, insert hook into next st, yarn over, pull yarn through st (you now have 3 loops on hook), yarn over and pull through all 3 loops on hook.

Crochet Rose Free Pattern:

Ch 30,

1. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, *1 dc in next ch, 1 sc in next ch*, repeat between ** to end, ending with sc in last st, all up 29 sts.
2. Ch 3, *1 sc in next st, 1 dc in next st*, repeat between ** to end, ending with 1 dc in last st.
3. Ch 1, *1 dc in next st, 1 sc in next st*, repeat between ** to end, ending with 1 sc in last st.
4. Ch 3, *1 sc in next st, 1 dc in next st*, repeat between **4 times, 2 sts tog x 3,  (push skipped work to point towards you), continue between ** to end. Turn.                                                                                        
5. Ch 1, *1 dc in next st, 1 sc in next st*, repeat between ** 6 times, 2 sts tog x 6, 1 sc in ch 3. Turn.
6. Sk 6 sts, *1 sc in next st, 1 dc in next st*, repeat between to end, ending with 1 dc in last st. Turn.
7. Ch 1, *1 dc in next st, 1 sc in next st*, repeat between ** 6 times, 1 dc in sl st, continue crochet on side of where beginning of work is attached with sl st (see picture) as follows: 1 sc in next st, **ch 3, 1 sc in next 2 sts**, continue between ** ** all across to work until you reach the beginning of row 7. 8. 2 sts tog x 6, 1 sl st in next st, turn.
9. 2 sts tog x 3, sl st in next st, turn.
10. 2 sts tog x 2, crochet 2 x 3-ch sp together twice. Fold the rose together as picture shows. 
11. Insert hook through 3 -ch sp and through all the layers of the rose creating the bottom of the rose, secure with another sl st. Attach black colored yarn. Continue crochet the stalk.                                           

Crochet Rose Stalk:

Ch 30, 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in every ch to end, sl st in rose petals to secure the stalk. Turn. Sl st in every sc, crochet a 3-ch picot (picotes creates the thorns) in every 4th sc, twist the cord between picots to create thorns on both sides, sl st in last st. Fasten off.

My inspiration for this crochet pattern is the wonderful waterlily. This pattern kind of happened while I was trying to make something else, as it often does, and I quickly had to assemble this gorgeous crochet flower bracelet. This crochet pattern is very easy to make. You can use old scrap yarn as I did, and a couple of old buttons laying around (if you have any).

Second crochet motif

Round 1. Ch 1. 6 dc in ch. Join with sl st in 1st dc.

Round 2. Ch 3, 2 dtr in same st, *1 picot on top of last dtr, ch 4, 3 dtr in next st*, repeat 6 times, end with ch 4, sl st on top of ch 3.

Third Crochet motif

Round 1. Ch 1. 10 dc in ch. Join with sl st in 1st dc.

Round 2. Ch 3, 2 dtr in same st, *1 picot on top of last dtr, ch 4, sk 1 st, 3 dtr in next st*, repeat 5 times, end with ch 4, sl st on top of ch 3.

Assemble crochet pattern

Assemble motif 2 on top of motif 1, and motif 3 on top of motif 2. Attach a button in the middle to hold all the motifs together. Use a long string of same yarn, and attach from bottom of motif 1 and through the middle to the top of motif 3, through the button, and down again through the bottom of motif 1. Use same string and chain 20 ch with crochet hook size 3, attach a button to end of ch 20.
