Crochet Materials:

Crochet hook size 2.5 mm

100 % cotton yarn in green and pink.

Special crochet stitches:

This crochet tank top pattern uses Solomon’s knot, Bullion stitch, and Crocodile stitch.

Bullion stitch uses 7 loops over the hook in this pattern.

Row 1. Begin crochet Solomon’s Knot as follows: 8 long loops (Solomon’s knot stitch), + 3 at end of row. Turn.

Row 2 – 4. Crochet Solomon’s knot. Each row begins with 3 loops instead of 2, EXCEPT row 4 which begins with 2 loops. This is to avoid a floppy edge. Turn.

Row 5. 3 sc in loop, 1 sc in sc. Continue to end. Turn.

Row 6. Ch 3, *1 bullion st in next st, 1 tr in next st, turn, sk 1 tr, 1 bullion st around previous bullion st, turn, 1 tr in next st (next to last tr made)*. Continue between ** to last 2 sc. Do not turn. Sl st in last 2 sc to next loop. Crochet as follows: 3 sc in loop, 1 sc in sc. Continue to end, sl st in st up the edge other side.

Row 7. Begin crochet crocodile stitch as follows: 13 sc, turn, Ch 3, 1 tr in same sc as ch 3, *ch 2, sk 2 scs, 2 tr in next st*, continue between ** to end.

Row 8. Crochet 5 tr down the 1st tr of the 2-tr group (last tr previous row), ch 1 and insert hook from left to right (looking directly at the work), crochet 5 tr up the next tr (you have now crocheted a Shell), *sk next 2-tr-group, crochet shell in next 2-tr group*, continue to end of row.

Row 9. Sl st to middle of 2nd shell from hook, ch 3, 1 tr in same st as ch 3, ch 2, 2 tr the middle of 2-tr-group (the 2-tr group you skipped previous row), ch 2*, repeat between ** to end of row, ending with 2 tr in center of last shell. Turn.

Row 10. Ch 2, 2 tr into the center of last shell. Turn.

Row 11. Crochet 5 tr down treble, ch 1, crochet 5 tr up treble. Fasten off.

On other side, attach yarn in 13th sc from end. Turn.

Row 12. Ch 3, 1 tr in same sc as ch 3, *ch 2, sk 2 scs, 2 tr in next st*, continue between ** to end of 13 scs.

Row 13. Ch 2, 2 tr into the center of last shell, ch 2, 2 tr in the middle of 2-tr-group (the 2-tr group you skipped previous row), ch 2, 2 tr into the center of next shell. Turn.

Row 14. Crochet 5 tr down the 1st tr of the 2-tr group (last tr previous row), ch 1 and insert hook from left to right (looking directly at the work), crochet 5 tr up the next tr (you have now crocheted a Shell), *sk next 2-tr-group, crochet shell in next 2-tr group*, continue to end of row.

Row 15. Sl st to middle of 1st shell made previous row. Ch 3, 1 treble in same spot. Turn.

Edging: Crochet edge around the side of row 7 to 15 both sides using row 6 as pattern.

Chic Crochet Barbie Top

This is a superhot crochet barbie top that will be part of a cool Barbie remake. :) I’m even making a barbie wig for this crochet project.

To make this crochet top, you will need to make 2 identical motifs.

Materials

Use a small crochet hook size 1.9 mm.

Use 100 % cotton yarn.

A sewing needle to weave in the ends and attach the 2 motifs.

Crochet Barbie Top step by step instructions

1st Motif.

Row 1. Begin by crochet 7 chainless sc. Turn.

Row 2 – 9. 1 sc in each sc. Turn.

Row 10. 2 sc in next 3 sc, 1 sc in each of the remaining sc. Turn.

Row 11. 1 sc in each sc to end. Turn.

Row 12. Rep row 10. Turn.

Row 13. Rep row 11. Turn.

Row 14. 2 sc tog, 1 sc in remaining sc to end. Turn.

2nd Motif.

Row 1-9 same as 1st Motif.

Row 10. 1 sc in each sc to last 3 sc, 2 sc in each of the last 3 sc. Turn.

Row 11. 1 sc in sc to end. Turn.

Row 12. Repeat row 10. Turn.

Row 13. Rep row 11. Turn.

Row 14. 1 sc in each sc to last 2 sc, 2 sc tog.

Stitch the row 1 together at the back of the doll.

Stich row 14 together, but leave 7 sc open as image shows. Use the leftover string as a cord around the neck.

Weave in the ends using a sewing needle.

How to make Life Size patterns using crochet Doll patterns

If you multiply the stitches with 7 or 8, and use a larger hook such as 5.5 mm, then it is possible to recreate a doll pattern to become a real size pattern. :) You might also ahve to change yarn size to one that fits better around a larger size hook.

Crochet Bikini Free Pattern

Crochet Bikini Pattern

I never thought I wuold make a crochet bikini, but here we go :)

Crochet Materials:

I used two different coloured yarn: Dark Blue and Maroon Red in 100 % Acrylic.

Crochet Hook Size 4.0.

Sewing needle.

Scissors.

Heirloom.

Thick Knitting Needle.

Crochet Bikini Pattern Instructions

Make 2 crochet motifs.

With Blue Yarn:

1. Ch 18, turn, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in every ch to last ch, in last ch crochet: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), continue crochet on the bottom of row, dc in every st to end, turn.

2. Ch 3, 1 dc in every dc to end, in 2 ch sp crochet: (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc), continue crochet 1 dc in each dc to end. Turn.

3-5. Rep row 2.

See image. Use a thick knitting needle and broomstick up each side 27 (incl 2 ch sp) each side. Do one side first. 3 loops together with 3 sc, Fasten off. Do the other side exactly the same way. Fasten off. Weave in ends.

Crochet border using Hairpin Pattern

Use an heirloom on 3rd largest setting.

1. 90 loops each side connected with sc in the middle.

2. Remove work from heirloom. 10 loops together with sc, 3-ch picot in same sc, sc in sc, ch 1, *( sc in next loop, ch 1) x 10, 10 loops together with sc*, continue between ** to last 10 loops, 10 loops together with sc, 3-ch picot in same sc, sc in sc. Fasten off. Turn around and crochet on loops the other side: *(sc in next loop, ch 1), 10 loops together with sc, ch 1*, repeat between ** to end. Fasten off.

Assemble the Crochet Bikini

Attach to motifs by point the side of the hairpin motifs with the two picots downwards. Count 22 loops and attach sc of hairpin motif to bottom of bikini motif. Sc across 12 scs. Repeat the other side.

Attach strings of Yarn to the top of bikini motifs as follows Sc, draw long 15 cm long loops through, do another sc in the same spot, and draw another 15 cm long loops through. Knot the loops together to secure them. Repeat the other side.

Continue Assemble the Crochet bikini

With Red Yarn

String red yarn between the two bikini motifs in zigzag similar to a shoelace (see left image above). Do the same to the side with zigzag similar to a shoelace (see right image above).

Crochet Hairpin Gypsy Poncho

How to Crochet a Hairpin Gypsy Poncho ~ And be a Knockout at Local Festivals

Crochet Poncho Pattern.

This crochet poncho pattern uses a Hairpin motif that looks like Angel wings or a Butterfly.

Make to Angel Hairpin Motifs as seen in image below. Click here to get pattern.

One is a motif for the front and one is a motif for the back. Connect the two with either a chain or string. I used craft leather strings. I attached wire at the ends of the leather strings by wrapping around it and then I created a loop. In the loop I attached a safety pin that I attached to the motifs front and back.

I used chunky yarn and made the poncho fringe. Attach 9 pieces of chunky yarn to the front and back in different lengths. Wear your Gypsy poncho on top of singlets or dresses. :)

Round 25. Ch 3, dc in each dc to end. Turn.

Round 26. Ch 3, dc in neach dc to end, 3 dc in ch 3, sk 7 sl sts, sl st in next sl st. Do not turn.

Round 27. (Ch 5 sk 4 sl st, 1 sl st in next sl st) x 5, sk 6 sts, sl st in next st, sc in next 22 sts, sl st in next st. Fasten off.

Attach a button at tip of beak. Each bird goes across shoulder in the opposite way. Attach beak of bird to other bolero as picture shows.

Crochet flower (Make 2)

Round 1. Ch 3, 13 dc in 3rd ch from hook, sl st in ch 3.

Round 2. *Ch 3, sl st in next st*, repeat between ** around.

Round 3. *Sl st in in ch 3 sp, ch 5*, repeat between ** around.

Round 5. Sl st in 5 ch sp round 3. Crochet the same pattern in all 5 ch sps: (1 sl st, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 1 sl st), sl st in sl st.

Fasten off and Weave in ends. Assemble as image shows below.

Attach flower below the bird motifs. Attach yarn at tip of petal. Ch 5, attach with dc where picture shows (1), 10, 1 dc in next petal, ch 5, attach with dc where picture shows (2), ch 10, dc in next petal, ch 5, attach with dc where picture shows (3), ch 10, dc in next petal, ch 5, attach with dc where picture shows (4), ch 70, sk 7 petals, 1 dc in tip of next petal, ch 5, attach with dc where picture shows (5), ch 10, 1 dc in 1st dc.

Make Arm holes using metal leaf motifs (you can also use a chain).

Thread a thin black thread (you can separate your black yarn in two to get the thinness) through the 5 leaves, leave a cm of thread between the leaves. Attach the leaves where picture shows to create arm holes. Since the bolero has two bird motifs facing back to front the arm holes will be attached in the same places, but back to front. (See image 1 for guidance). Also attach a leaf in middle of flower as image 2 shows. Use a sewing needle.

How to Crochet Butterfly Top ~ Free Crochet Pattern

Yarn with Fayette 60 % superwash wool, 40 % Polyamide, multicolored. Crochet hook size 6.5

This crochet top happened as a freestyle crochet piece while trying to relax over the Christmas holiday. My nephew pointed out to me it looked like a butterfly in the middle, thus the butterfly in the flower name. As you can see from the video below, my parrot Jupiter is eager to help. He is very well behaved in this video. More often than not he grabs the crochet hook and flies away with it! He is very cheeky like that. My other parrot Neptune enjoyed being a fashionista as you can see in the picture below.

Round 1: Ch 3, sl st in 1st ch, 6 dc in ring, sl st in 1st st.

Round 2: Ch 6, 1 sl st in 3rd ch from hook, (ch 2, 1 dc) in every dc across, sk 1 ch on remaining chs between rings, 1 sl st in next ch, 1 dc in remaining chs to 1st dc on ring 1. (Ch 2, 1 dc in every dc across), 1 dc in 1st dc ring 2.

Round 3: Repeat round 1, (Ch 2, 1 dc) in dc across, 1 sl st in ch-2 sp ring 2. (Ch 5, 1 dc next 2 ch sp) x repeat across all rings. Sl st between the 3 rings, end with 1 sl st in 1st 5 ch sp.

Round 4: 9 dc in all 5-ch sps across all rings.

Round 5: Sl st to 5th dc, (Ch 7, 1 sl sts in 5th dc next 9 dc-cluster) x repeat across.

Round 6: (2 dc + 3 htr + 2 dc) in every 7 ch sp across.

Round 7: 1 dc in every sts across.

Round 8: (Ch 3, sk 1 dc, 1 sl st in next sc) x repeat across, sl st in 1st 3 ch sp.

Round 9: (Ch 7, sk 3 ch sp, 1 sl st in next 3 ch sp) x repeat aross, sl st in 1st 7 ch sp.

Round 10: Repeat row 6.

Round 11: (Ch 7, sl st in remaining 3 ch sp row 8) x repeat across, sl st in 1st 7 ch sp.

Round 12: Repeat row 6.

Round 13: Sl st in every sts across EXCEPT middle htr in 3-htr group: in middle htr crochet 1 picot.

Round 14: Continue on petal made row 9 and 10. *1 sl st to middle htr in 3-htr group: Ch 10, 8 dc in 2nd ch from hook, sk 1 ch, 1 dc in next ch, sk 1 ch, 3 dc in next ch, 1 sl st in 1st dc in 8-dc group, 1 sl st in rest of ch back to petal*, repeat between ** across. This makes little mini-petals that will be used both to create wonderful decoration and also to attach front and back to each other as described below.

Attach as follows. Stitch 3 of the mini-petals per side as shoulder straps. The fourth will be under the arm and thus created an armhole. Attach with 5 ch. On one side you attach the 5 ch with sl st on opposite mini-petal, then turn and dc across the foundation chain back to the mini-petal and end with sl st. On the other side you ch 5, turn and dc back to mini-petal over the cord. Do not attach 5 ch to other mini-petal opposite side. End with sl st. One side will be attached with buttons. Continue attaching mini-petals to opposite petals with either buttons or sl st until the waist. Leave remaining petals. In the picture above I have attached 3 mini-petals as shoulder straps and 2 petals below arm. The rest of the mini-petals are left as decoration.
