<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Why wear Amethyst?</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Amethyst is known for spiritual wisdom and balancing of the crown chakra. Amethyst is connected to Greek mythology and means &#8216;Not Drunken&#8217;. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Amethyst in Greek Mythology</strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Amethyst was a beautiful young woman who caught the eye of Dionysus, the god of wine and revelry. Infatuated with her, Dionysus pursued Amethyst with unwavering determination. However, Amethyst, devoted to her own chastity and purity, resisted his advances and sought refuge in the sanctuary of the goddess Artemis.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">In her desperate plea for protection from the relentless pursuit of Dionysus, Amethyst cried out to Artemis, the virgin goddess of the hunt and protector of young women. Hearing the sincere prayers of Amethyst, Artemis swiftly responded by transforming the maiden into a crystalline form to shield her from Dionysus&#8217; advances. In some versions of the myth, Amethyst is turned into a clear crystal to mimic the colorlessness of water, symbolizing purity and protection from intoxication.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Amethyst crystal is thus a protection against what we don&#8217;t want. It is seen as the crystal of sobriety. Its spiritual lesson is to avoid obsession or addiction to anything. It is the stone for inner joy and finding peace within. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Wrap a beautiful Amethyst in Wire and Wear as a Protective Necklace</h2>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><a href="https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Screen-Shot-2023-11-15-at-2.33.10-pm.png"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="419" height="522" src="https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Screen-Shot-2023-11-15-at-2.33.10-pm.png" alt="Wire wrapped Amethyst necklace" class="wp-image-18611" srcset="https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Screen-Shot-2023-11-15-at-2.33.10-pm.png 419w, https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Screen-Shot-2023-11-15-at-2.33.10-pm-241x300.png 241w" sizes="(max-width: 419px) 100vw, 419px" /></a></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Materials Needed:</strong></p>

<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li>Amethyst crystal (tumbled or raw)</li>

<li>Jewelry wire (20 or 22 gauge is commonly used). You can also use 26 or 28 gauge to bind thicker wire together (see image below).</li>

<li>Wire cutters</li>

<li>Round-nose pliers</li>

<li>Chain or cord for the necklace</li>

<li>Clasp or jump rings (optional)</li>
</ol>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Wire wrapping Crystals is a meditative exercise. There is no pattern to follow. You simply work with the wire through your imagination. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Bind the thicker wire together with thin wire as image shows. Use pliers and shape the wire around the crystal. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><a href="https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Screen-Shot-2023-11-16-at-7.07.34-am.png"><img decoding="async" width="466" height="473" src="https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Screen-Shot-2023-11-16-at-7.07.34-am.png" alt="" class="wp-image-18632" srcset="https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Screen-Shot-2023-11-16-at-7.07.34-am.png 466w, https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Screen-Shot-2023-11-16-at-7.07.34-am-296x300.png 296w" sizes="(max-width: 466px) 100vw, 466px" /></a></figure>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Do you believe Crystals have their own Consciousness? </h3>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If so, why not ask Amethyst to help you wrap it into a masterpiece. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Finishing Touches:</strong> Check the pendant for any sharp edges or wire ends that may snag on clothing. Use the pliers to adjust and secure any loose ends.</p>

<p>I had so much fun making this. Basically, I followed the step by step pattern found <a href="http://www.instructables.com/id/Wire-Scorpion/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here. </a> This tutorial is so easy to follow. If you want to make a cool bracelet scorpion, all you have to do is to follow the pictures and then do what I did, wrap the Scorpion legs around your wrists. I also added some beads to give it some extra bling! :)</p>
<h2>What will you need to make the Scorpion wire wrap bracelet?</h2>
<p>You will need wire (26 gauge and 20 gauge). You can also use 18 gauge instead of 20. Basically, you will need soft and hard wire. For the Scorpion you will use the hard wire (20 or 18 gauge) and for the decoration with beads you will use soft wire (26 or 28 gauge). You will also need wire snips and pliers.</p>
<p>Have fun with this project.</p>

<p><strong>Wire wrap Material:</strong></p>
<p>Agate slice, 24 gauge wire, 28 gauge wire, pliers.</p>
<p>Wire wrap instructions with pictures.</p>
<p>The best advice I can give when it comes to wire wrapping jewellery is this: HAVE LOTS OF FUN! The way you coil the wire is your own individual expression. No wire wraps are the same.</p>
<p>Cut 3 pieces of 24 gauge wire, about 30 cm each. Attach them together by wire wrapping 28 gauge wire around all the wire pieces in two different spots as picture below shows.</p>
<p><a href="http://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/6327727455469568.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1535" src="http://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/6327727455469568-300x300.jpg" alt="6327727455469568" width="300" height="300" srcset="https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/6327727455469568-300x300.jpg 300w, https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/6327727455469568-150x150.jpg 150w, https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/6327727455469568.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a></p>
<p>Bend the two wires each side using pliers, and put the Agate in the middle.</p>
<p><a href="http://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/6232902362202112.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1536" src="http://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/6232902362202112-270x300.jpg" alt="Wire wrap agate" width="270" height="300" srcset="https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/6232902362202112-270x300.jpg 270w, https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/6232902362202112.jpg 540w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 270px) 100vw, 270px" /></a></p>
<p>Fold the wire &#8216;arms&#8217; around the Agate. Use the pliers to coil the wire. Make sure the wire wraps around both the top end and the bottom end of the Agate, so that it doesn&#8217;t slip out of the wire.</p>
<p><a href="http://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/5396173208158208.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-1537" src="http://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/5396173208158208-300x300.jpg" alt="5396173208158208" width="300" height="300" srcset="https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/5396173208158208-300x300.jpg 300w, https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/5396173208158208-150x150.jpg 150w, https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/5396173208158208.jpg 600w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></a></p>
<p>Use the pliers to bend the wire in desired directions. Wrap the ends of the wire around itself so that no sharp edges are left sticking out.</p>
<p><a href="http://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/unnamed.jpg"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-1538 size-full" src="http://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/unnamed.jpg" alt="wire wrap jewellery" width="289" height="332" srcset="https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/unnamed.jpg 289w, https://crochetartdesign.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/unnamed-261x300.jpg 261w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 289px) 100vw, 289px" /></a></p>
<p>Wire wrapping your own jewellery is a very satisfying and relaxing activity.</p>
