Crochet Ladybug Pattern

This is a miniature amigurumi crochet pattern of a very cute ladybug. Enjoy crochet this ladybug.

Ladybugs are special bugs that have a spiritual meaning. They are meant to be a sign of luck.

Crochet Materials

Crochet hook size 2.5 mm

Yarn: 100 % cotton black, 100 % acrylic red, acrylic curly white. For hair use 100 % acrylic blue.

Sewing needle.

Scissors.

28 gauge wire.

Pliers.

Craft filling.

Crochet stitches used.

Chain (ch)

Slip stitch (sl st)

Single crochet (sc)

Chain space (ch sp)

2 single crochet together (2 sc tog).

Ladybug Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

This pattern uses US stitch abbreviation. This crochet ladybug is part of a cup cozy.

Crochet ladybug head

With black yarn and crochet hook size 2.5

Round 1. Ch 2, turn, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in 1st sc.

Round 2 – 3. Sc in sc all around.

Round 4. Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc.

Round 5. Sc in sc all around.

Round 6. 2 sc tog all around.

Fill in craft stuffing.

Crochet ladybug eyes.

Make 2.

Use curly white yarn and crochet hook size 2.5.

Round 1. Ch 2, turn, 3 sc in 2nd ch from hook. Fasten off. Use a sewing needle and white cotton yarn and stitch the eye into a ball.

Ladybug’s hairdo.

Cut off about 6 cm (2.5 inches) blue yarn. Cut 2 strings blue yarn. Slip stitch on top of the head.

Crochet ladybug body

Round 1. Ch 2, turn, 8 sc in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in 1st sc.

Round 2 – 3. Sc in sc all around.

Round 4. Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc.

Round 5. Sc in sc all around.

Round 6. Sc in sc, 2 sc in next sc, repeat all the way around.

Fill in craft filling.

Round 7-8. Sc in sc.

Round 9. Sc in sc, 2 sc tog all around.

Round 10. Rep round 9.

Round 11. 2 sc tog until the hole is closed.

Slip stitch head to round 1 of body.

Crochet ladybug wings.

Make 2.

With red yarn and crochet hook size 2.5:

Row 1. Ch 6, turn, sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in remaining scs to end. Turn.

Row 2-4. Sc in sc to end. Turn.

Row 5. Slip st in next sc, sc in next 3 scs. Turn.

Row 6. Sc in next 2 scs. Turn.

Row 7. Sc in ch sp between 2 scs. Turn.

Row 8. Sc in sc. Fasten off.  Stitch row 1 to side of body.

Crochet Black dots on Ladybug’s wing.

Make 8.

With black yarn and crochet hook size 2.5 mm.

Ch 2, turn, sl st in 2nd ch from hook. Slip stitch on wing using a sewing needle.

Crochet Ladybug legs.

Make 4.

Cut 4 x 6 cm (2.5 inches) 28 gauge wire.

Use pliers and attach to ladybug’s stomach.

Wrap black yarn around wires and attach to body with a sewing needle.
