Crochet Spider’s Web Stitch Tutorial

This pattern uses US stitch abbreviation. 

Spider’s web stitch needs a multiple of 14 sts + 1, add 5 for foundation chain. In this example, chain 34.

FR. Ch 34, turn, *1 dc in 10th ch from hook, [ch 1, sk 2 ch, 1 dc in next ch] x 2, ch 4, sk 3 ch, 1 sc in next ch, ch 4, sk 3 ch*, repeat between ** to end, ending with 1 sc in last ch. Turn.

Row 1. Ch 5, *sk 4 ch, [1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc] in next dc, sk ch 1, 1 dc in next dc, sk 1 ch, [1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc] in next dc, ch 2, sk ch 4, 1 dc in sc, ch 2*, repeat between ** to end, ending with 1 dc in 5th ch after dc of previous row. Turn.

Row 2. Ch 5, sk 1 dc, *sk 2 ch, 1 hdc in dc, ch 2, sk 2 ch, 1 sc in dc, 1 sl st in next dc, 1 sc in next dc, ch 2, sk 2 ch, 1 hdc in dc, ch 2, 1 dc in dc, ch 2*, repeat between ** to end, ending with 1 dc in 3rd ch of ch 5. Turn.

Row 3. Ch 5, *1 hdc in hdc, ch 2, 1 sc in sc, ch 1, sk 1 sl st, sc in sc, ch 2, hdc in hdc, ch 2, dc in dc, ch 2*, repeat between ** to end, ending with 1 dc in 3rd ch of ch 5. Turn.

Row 4. Ch 7, *2 dc tog by inserting in hdc and dc, ch 1, 1 dc in ch-1-sp, ch 1, 2 dc tog by inserting in dc and hdc, ch 4, sk 2 ch, dc in dc, ch 4*, repeat between ** to end, end with dc in 3rd ch of 5 ch. Turn.

Row 5. Ch 4, *dc in 2 dc tog, ch 2, dc in dc, ch 2, dc in 2 dc tog, ch 3*, repeat between ** to end, ending with dc in 3rd ch from 7 ch. Turn.

Row 6. Ch 5, *sk 3 ch, dc in dc, [ch 1, dc in dc] x 2, ch 4, sk 3 ch, dc in dc, ch 4*, repeat between ** to end, ending with dc in last ch. Turn.

Repeat between 1-6 until desired length.
