Crochet Mophead Stitch Tutorial

This pattern uses US stitch abbreviation. 

Mophead needs a multiple of 10 sts + 1, add 1 ch for the foundation chain. In this example, chain 22.

FR. Chain 22, 1 sc in 3rd ch from hook, *ch 3, sk 2 ch, 1 sc in each of next 3 ch*, repeat between ** to end, ending with 1 sc in each of last 2 ch. Turn.

Row 1. Ch 1, 1 sc in next dc, 1 sc in 3-ch sp, *ch 3, sk 1 sc, 1 dc in next sc (centre sc of 3 sc), ch 3, sk 1 sc, 1 sc in 2-ch sp, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc, 1 sc in 3-ch sp*, repeat between ** to end, ending with 1 sc in 3 ch sp, 1 sc in sc, 1 sc in ch 1. Turn.

Row 2. Ch 1, 1 sc in next sc, *ch 3, sk 1 sc, 1 sc in 3-ch sp, 1 sc in dc, 1 sc in 3-ch sp, ch 3, sk 1 sc, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc (centre 3 of 5 sc)*, repeat between ** to end, ending with 1 sc in last sc, 1 sc in ch 1. Turn.

Row 3. Ch 6, sk next sc, *1 sc in 3-ch sp, 1 sc in each of 3 sc, 1 sc in 3-ch sp, ch 3, sk 1 sc, 1 dc in next sc (the centre sc of 3 sc), ch 3, sk 1 sc*, repeat between ** to end, ending with 1 dc in ch 1. Turn.

Row 4. Ch 1, *1 sc in 3-ch sp, ch 3, sk 1 sc, 1 sc in each of next 3 sc (centre 3 sc of 5 sc), ch 3, sk 1 sc, 1 sc in 3-ch sp, 1 sc in dc*, repeat between ** to end, ending with 1 sc in 4th and 3rd ch of 6 ch. Turn.
